What you should know

- [Lecturer] In order to get the most out of this course, firstly you're going to have to have a Kubernetes environment with administrative level credentials. Something as simple as using the minikube application to launch Kubernetes environment is the simplest way to go about it, but you can also use a cloud provided version. For example, from Azure, Amazon, Google or really any cloud provider. The key is having administrative access and roles-based access control availability for that particular Kubernetes environment. In addition to having the Kubernetes environment it's useful to have some basic understanding of interacting with the Kubernetes system using the kube control command line, kubectl is another way it's pronounced, but it's really kube control. That tool is very useful as well as basic Linux command line tools like cat, more, ls. All of this is covered within the modules but just having that understanding just simplifies the process. Exercise files are provided for copy and paste functions of long commands or any data entry into the Prometheus UI, for example for searching or filtering specific commands. In addition we have copy and paste commands for launching the application within the Kubernetes environment leveraging the kube control commands.
