Explore routing and controller routing in the DAW.
- [Instructor] Now I'd like to talk a little bit about…working with synths inside of the DAW.…There's a lot of different stuff that you can do…to make your sounds more expressive,…with your playing and with things like that,…and also with MIDI control.…Also, with routing.…So, let's just talk about a couple of the basic things…that we can do when we're working…with synthesizers inside of the DAW…to make things a little bit easier on ourselves.…First of all, I like to have things color-coded.…There's not a whole lot going on here,…so it's pretty easy to keep track of,…but one of the things that I pointed out before…is having things as send effects.…And if open this up in Logic,…you'll see that we have the drums.…
And I'll just type that.…And then we have our synth, okay?…There we go.…So, we also have this reverb here,…and notice that there's no instruments on the reverb here.…The reason for this is because it's a send effect.…Now this is the same in Pro Tools,…it's the same in Ableton Live, Cubase, wherever you go.…
