- [Instructor] Okay, we're going to do another chart type now. We're still doing the explore data task of the data understanding phase. But we really need to do another chart type, because I want to underscore that every different pair of variables in terms of their level of measurement is going to require a somewhat different approach when exploring the data visually. So scatter plot only works when you have a scale variable on the x axis and a scale variable on the y axis. But what if you want to compare a categorical variable to a scale variable? That's not going to work effectively and we need to that a different way. So we're going to try a box plot. Aligning the chart type with the level of measurement of the underlying variables is actually a huge topic. And entire books have been written about it.
