What you should know
- [Instructor] While you'll be able to get the demo code and run it and perhaps even reverse engineer it, to get the most out of this course there are a few things you should know before digging in. These are languages and technologies that are commonplace in the modern web development landscape. For example, I do assume that you have working knowledge of JavaScript and CSS. DataScript executes JavaScript code that you write and uses CSS to style the user interface, just like on the web. We'll cover the specific differences a little later in the course. You should also be familiar with using the command line to execute tasks. I'll frequently operate on a project with the DataScript CLI known as command line interface, so you need to be comfortable with it. Although it's not strictly necessary, it would be helpful for you to be familiar with TypeScript. We'll be using TypeScript to build our application and you'll feel a lot more comfortable in this course if you familiarize yourself with TypeScript. If you already know some Angular, that's great, but it's not required as I'll be reviewing some Angular core concepts as we need them later in the course. I will not expect you to know mobile specific technologies such as Xcode and Android Studio or languages such as Objective-C, Swift, or Java. After all, we're here to learn how to leverage our existing web development skills to write native mobile applications.
