Assertions: Java: Testing with JUnit

The term assertion is used by JUnit for all unit tests. JUnit provides overloaded assertion methods for all primitive types and Objects and arrays (of primitives or Objects). The parameter order is expected value followed by actual value. Optionally the first parameter can be a String message that is output on failure. Assertions can be used to compare expected and actual values for arrays, single values, objects, null values. They can be compared if they are equal, not equal, same.
