- [Narrator] In this chapter, we're going to learn about iFeatures. Now, the first thing you might ask is, what is an iFeature? Well, sometimes we have either a feature or a group of features that would be very useful to use not just in one part, but across many different parts. So think of the example right here of our tread. If we're a manufacturer of step ladders, chances are, we're going to need some type of grip treads all over many of our products. Now, every time I created a new part that needed tread, I could start from ground zero and create it from the bottom up, or I could create some type of an iFeature where all of the important main information is captured. And then all I have to do is tell Inventor, I want this feature at this location, and it will create it over, and over, and over again for me.
