- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to take this plate that has a whole in each of the four corners and we're going to make an equation that will allow the user to select how many holes they want across the top and the bottom of the plate. And this exercise is going to introduce us to user parameters which are very important when we're creating models inside of Inventor. So we're going to go ahead and open up our parameters dialogue. And if you want to you can move the part over a little bit so that you can see it better. And you can see we have a parameter that gives us the number of holes across the top and the bottom of our part. Now notice that if we change that from two holes to three holes, absolutely nothing happens to our part. Well in reality, something did happen, it's just not what we wanted.
