- [Instructor] We're now ready to begin looking at part modeling. On the screen, you can see we have Part feature intro.ipt, and this is just a simple part I created in order to begin talking about the different types of features that can be created and how they're interconnected. If you look in the browser, this part is made up of a number of items. A base extrusion, a second extrusion for the cut, a fillit around the back edge, chamfers on the front edge, and a hole that runs through the center. What I wanted to do is call out the fact that Inventor is a parametric, history-based modeler. What that means, is all the dimensions you create are parameters and the history actually happens here in the browser. If, for example, we were to right-click and select edit this feature, you'll notice that something happens. Over here in the browser, Extrusion1 is bolded and everything below it is grayed out.
