Overview of weldments

- [Voiceover] In this lesson, we'll focus on the weldments certification objectives. In the lesson itself, we'll create a weldment by converting a regular assembly to a weldment assembly. We'll add preparations and welds to the model, and we'll see how we can understand what effect welding will have. When I open my weldment, I'll see the metal frame that I created previously, as well as a handle. Upon closer inspection, I see there's a gap around the handle, and where I want to do some welding on the back, I'll need to do some additional work. The first step is to go to the Environments Tab to the Convert panel and select Convert to Weldment. It will give me a warning that the structure will change, then I'm able to select different options. For example, I'm able to select what standard I want to work with, what sort of weld bead material I need. And if I'd like to, I can change how we will approach the bill of materials for our weldment. When I click OK, it will go through the…
