Manually adding wires

Manually adding wires

- [Instructor] The process of defining a wire harness is fairly straightforward. First, you tell Inventor that you want to create a wire harness, using the cable and harness tool, set up the name, and it will generate the harness environment. From then, there are a few critical steps. While simple, they must be performed in order for all of this to work. First, select the component from the screen. Right-click, and go to the harness properties. In the harness properties, you will be asked to assign a reference designator. I do have an AutoCAD electrical schematic of the harness that I'd like to create, but I'm going to create things manually right now. Even though I won't be using that schematic, I do want to use the same designator. In this case, for this connector, it's A1. I'll go through the other connectors on the screen, and assign them as well. Simply selecting them, and filling in the information required. With the referenced designators entered, now I can start to look at the…
