Leveraging results for FEA (finite element analysis)
- Using dynamic simulation to establish what the peak loads are on a part during the function of a mechanism is an effective way to establish what those loads are. However, we need to be able to take advantage of those in the finite element analysis environment. To do this we'll simply start another simulation by launching Stress Analysis from the Begin tab, and when we go to create our simulation we need to tell it that we want to base it on a Motion Loads Analysis. Now even before I select it our part already understands that there's loads available. Because the FEA environment in Inventor is static I have to select a Time Step. Had I selected more than one time step before exporting the motion loads from the dynamic simulation environment, I would be able to pick which time I want to use. In this case I only selected the time stamp with the maximum loads, so that's the only one available. But we'll accept that. I'll say OK and you'll see the environment change. Forces are…
