- [Narrator] We're now ready to jump into learning about sketching. I wanted to take a minute and explain the connection between sketching and 3D modeling, so that as we move forward, you understand why we're sketching in the first place. There are no exercise files, and there's nothing to do in this movie. Instead, I'd prefer that you pay attention and watch what I'm explaining here, 'cause I'm going to jump ahead a little bit so that you can understand the connection between 2D sketch that you're going to learn to create, and the 3D modeling actions that we're going to learn later in the course. I'm going to start by right-clicking and selecting new sketch. And I always need a flat plane to sketch on, so I'm going to select the XY origin plane. And I now am in a sketch, and the toolbar is set up for sketching. And I can right-click and select two point rectangle. Now I'm not going to add dimensions…
