Importance of parameters and equations

- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to learn about parameters. Now you may have learned about parameters before if you've taken some type of an Inventor basic course, but we need to review it as part of an automation course because parameters are really the foundation in Inventor to improve any workflows or to help automate creating models in a very quick manner. Now inside of Inventor, any time that you enter a number inside of a dialogue box, any time you enter a number to define some type of a dimension, you're basically creating a parameter and what that does is that allows us inside of Inventor to define and control the size and shape of the model that we're creating. It also makes it easy for us to go back and modify the geometry because any value that we change will drive our model and it will update the model accordingly.
