- [Instructor] The next type of drawing view we're going to look at is a section view. On the screen you can see a starter file I created Engine Block Section.idw. If you don't have that open, go ahead and open it now and what we're going to do is begin by creating a section view. A section view is really a slice through a view that you can see the insides of a part. We're going to go ahead and zoom in just to air so that we can see this design a little more clearly. And to create a section view is very similar to creating a projected view. With one difference, you're going to need a section line. And the section line is going to define where we want this slice or cut to happen. To begin the section view, we need to return to the place views tab under the create panel and select section.
