- [Instructor] The next feature we're going to look at is the loft feature. Earlier in this call you saw me create a loft when I was talking about work planes, because work planes control the cross sections that are used in lofts. On the screen is the bottle we're going to create, but we're going to start from a blank part file. If you don't have one open, go ahead and open one. I have one open here at the tabs and I'm going to start by right clicking in the graphics window and selecting new sketch. Now from the origin geometry, we'll go ahead and select the x, z plane this time and we'll zoom out with our wheel a little bit and we're ready to create our first ellipse. To do that, we can go to the sketch tab under the create panel. And normally this is a circle and inventor remembers the last thing you used and that was ellipse for me.
