Certification overview

- As you prepare to take this course, I wanted to pause for a moment and make you aware of the Autodesk certification options that are available to you. If you browse to autodesk.com/certification you'll find information about the training and certification that's available from Autodesk. On the left side of this screen you can see Certification Options. On this page, you'll learn that Autodesk has multiple levels of certification that are available to users. The entry level is the Autodesk Certified User exam. This allows you to prove to others, whether it's for academic purposes or for career purposes, that you have a solid understanding of what Inventor is, what their concepts are, and how the general interface functions. Once you've used Inventor on the job, in a professional environment, you may find yourself ready to take the Certified Professional exam. This requires a much deeper knowledge of Inventor and on the job experience of actual using the product in a real world environment. If you want to learn more about the Autodesk Certified User exam, you can click on the link here in the center of the page for Certiport, the company that provides the Autodesk Certified User exam. On this page, you'll see that not only are there exams for Inventor, but many other products that lynda.com has courses on. I suggest as you prepare to take this course, you take a moment to examine these pages and learn a bit more about what's available to you as you improve your knowledge on the product. Certifications are a great way to let people know that you have both knowledge of a product and a willingness to work on improving your skills.
