Assembly 1

- [Instructor] This is the first of three videos on assembly of modeling certification objectives. In this lesson we'll use assembly Constraints and assembly Joints to put our parts in the proper position in the assembly. We use a level of detail to be able to quickly change what portions of the assembly we're working in. And then we'll create a part in the context of an assembly. With all the individual components of my assembly finished, now I need to put them in their proper position. Autodesk Inventor has two systems for doing this, assembly Constraints and assembly Joints. For many applications they're interchangeable, at least the result is interchangeable. The approach between Joints and Constraints is somewhat different. Constraints rely heavily on geometry, Joints rely on geometry to an extent, but also can use theoretical geometry, such as the center of a face, or an inherent midplane in a cylinder to more easily locate the geometry. Joints can also be repurposed in other…
