How to prepare for the Savvy Start

- The SAM process is intricate. It has a lot of moving parts. There's a good amount of study and practice, but if you want to know the quickest way to better projects the answer is simple: become an expert at the Savvy Start. It's the key moment in the SAM process and it'll set the tone for everything that comes after. There are three things which need to happen before you kick off a Savvy Start. You need to gather background information, identify the right people, and set up the room. Every learning and development project begins with information gathering. During backgrounding, you seek to understand the expectations for this project, identify who needs to improve performance on which task, set in measures of success, and learn what succeeded and failed in other training efforts.
