- Project planning, it's a polarizing phrase. It means papers, spreadsheets, timelines, budgets. Maybe you love it, maybe you hate it. It involves careful consideration not only of cost and quality management, but also related communication, risk, schedule, scope, and staffing implications. All that is still a part of SAM, but maybe not in the way you think. Successive iteration is different than your average project. A concept essential to successive iteration is that no project is ever perfect, but through repeated work, projects can evolve and become closer to perfection.
