- One of the best ways to be successful at something new is to take a look at others that have already had success at whatever it is you're trying to do. So let's take a look at some businesses that have been successful on Instagram and take a look at their profiles to try and see what type of content they're posting and why they've been so successful. The businesses that I'm about to show you are businesses that were actually recognized on the Instagram website as having had success and it's usually based on either increased sales or increased advert recognition, which basically translates into brand recognition.
So I'm here in the Instagram app and I'm on the search screen. So I'm just going to tap in the search bar at the top of this screen and I could go ahead and start typing in some brands here by I've already searched for these brands and accessed their profiles, so you can see they're saved right in a list here. So let's take a look at Levi's first. Levi's has had a lot of success here on Instagram. We can see that they have 716,000 followers and if we scroll down a little bit, we can take a look at the type of photos that they're posting. Bow, obviously, they sell clothing products, so most of the photos are photos of their products either being worn or just by themselves.
And what Levi's does a lot, if we tap on one of these photos here, is they post the photo and then they put a little caption at the bottom. And as you can see in this one, they tell you what product the person is wearing. So this person is riding his bike through Amsterdam in his 511 jeans. Levi's also has a link at the top of this page, if you tap on this link below their little, the official US Instagram account of the Levi's brand, that will take you to their website where you can purchase their products. So Levi's has had a lot of success, they're a clothing brand, that lends pretty well to photos because you can post a whole bunch of people wearing the products in different ways.
But that's what important is how to use the product. I mentioned it earlier in the course and Levi's does that well. You can see there's a photo of somebody going to work or something here. So they're showing you how to use their product, which is great. Let's take a look at another company. I'm gonna go back to the search bar and we'll take a look at Chobani. I really like the Chobani Instagram page. They have 93,000 followers, so not quite as many as Levi's but if we take a look at their Instagram profile, first of all, they have something really nice up here at the top. They have a great quote: "To love this life, "is to live it naturally." You know, it's a feel good quote.
And then they have a #LoveThisLife. So that gives users an opportunity to post photos of maybe the breakfast that they made with Chobani yogurt and then they can hashtag it, LoveThisLife, their friends see it, their friends then click on the LoveThisLife hashtag and they see more photos of how Chobani yogurt is used. So if we scroll down to this Instagram account here, you'll notice that they don't just have pictures of yogurt because that would get pretty boring. I mean, yogurt is yogurt. Yeah, it has different flavors, but it doesn't always look that different, right? So you can see what Chobani is doing.
Again, they're showing you how to use their yogurt. So we have different meals that people have made with the yogurt here. You know, there's one there, here's a breakfast, looks like yogurt bars or something right there, yogurt bark it's called, with some blueberries. Very colorful profile, a lot of greens and yellows and reds. Chobani has done really, really well here on Instagram and this is a great opportunity. You'll notice, they have a link up here at the top to access recipes, so you can cook with Chobani but not everybody might think about that. When I think of Chobani or yogurt in general, I think about eating it.
I'm not a great cook, so I don't always think about, "Oh, I can actually make different things out of yogurt." Well, if I follow the Chobani Instagram page, I'm going to get some great ideas on things that I can make with yogurt. If I go to the store to actually make one off those things, if I found the recipe on the Chobani Instagram page, am I really going to buy the store brand yogurt, or am I going to buy Chobani? I'm probably going to buy Chobani because they gave me the recipe, and oh, maybe it tastes different with a different product. So Chobani's had a lot of success. It's just a yogurt company but you can get some great ideas here. The photos that they have look absolutely amazing. Food is big.
If you're a food company or you have anything related to food, you've got a great opportunity on Instagram because foodies love their food photos. So definitely think about that. Let's take a look at another brand here. Let's take a look at Loreal Paris because I really like a couple aspects of their Instagram profile. You can see they have 453,000 followers, so they've got a pretty good following. They've been very successful. They obviously are a makeup and hair care product company, so that lends pretty well to photos because you can actually put models using your products. So you can see we've got some women here that have makeup on.
We also have photos of just the products themselves, so we can see we've got, you know, some lipstick here. But here's what I like about the Loreal Paris Instagram page, the Loreal Paris logo colors are black, white, and pink. If you scroll down this page here, look at the colors that you're seeing. We're seeing a lot of black, white, and pinks. So they're really playing towards their brand colors in all of their Instagram photos. I mean, you don't even have to see the Loreal Paris at the top of this page here so you know it's their profile to maybe even tell which company this is.
If you know makeup products and you know Loreal Paris's brand colors, you might be able to guess that this is their Instagram account just because of the color scheme that we're seeing in the photos. So they do a really good job of that. Obviously, you know, it's a makeup company, that lends itself really well to photos here on Instagram and most of these companies probably have professional photographers but you don't need to be a professional photographer to post amazing looking photos to Instagram. You take a good photo, you know, obviously, it has to be in focus, but then the Instagram filters and the editing options really allow you to give your photos a nice, professional feel.
So these are just some examples of different companies that have had success on Instagram. Hopefully, it gives you some ideas for your own brand as we move forward in the course. You definitely want to be original, unique, but, you know, taking a look at what these companies have done and how they've been successful, hopefully, will help you in being successful on Instagram as well.
