This video explains how to choose the best method of analysis for your project.
- [Instructor] Hydrology and drainage…is something that's been in Infraworks for,…I don't know, maybe about three or four releases already,…but it keeps iterating so things may be a little bit newer,…menus have definitely changed, and the methods…that are used have also changed.…There may be some terms and methods…that you may not be familiar with,…especially if you're not a hydrological engineer.…So we'll just have a quick recap.…There's no need to follow along, there's no steps.…
Just bear with me.…First of all, what is a watershed?…A watershed is a precipitation collector.…All of the water that falls into it…and drains off of it goes to a common outlet.…Here, you can see that I already have a watershed.…Sometimes these can be a few square feet,…other times they're as large as the Chesapeake Bay.…You may hear the words catchment or drainage basin.…
Now these are the same things.…A watershed consists of all the surface waters,…so rain, lakes, streams, rivers, ponds, wetlands, et cetera…and all of the underlying ground water.…
