- [Instructor] Another important part of the site planning process is understanding the current and future land use for the existing site and surrounding properties. So, we're going to actually import GIS data for our land use that we were able to download from the city of Ft. Worth for this particular project. I'm going to open my data sources. From the pull down, I'm going to select shape and we're going to actually browse to the Desktop, InfraWorks Data Sets, Site Planning folder, GIS data folder, and GIS, and select Future Land Use shape file. Select Open. Because it is vector data, we'll need to configure it. We'll double click and from the file type pull down, we'll select Coverage Areas. And the reason you want to select Coverage Areas is because if you select parcels and we assign a theme to this land use, you will actually color code the line work, not the actual area, which is what we want, within the parcel.…
