- Being able to edit your designs is just as important as creating them in the first place. Let's take a look at how to edit roads so that you can refine your design to get it just the way it needs to be. I've opened the chapter three Hotel Lynda model. And I've selected the edit roads proposal. I'm also going to select the hotel plan bookmark which will zoom me in to the plan view of our hotel property looking straight down on it but seeing the whole property at once. We've drawn a road in this location, but we want to make some changes to it. But before we get to that, I want to talk to you about select mode versus edit mode. When you click on your road, there's really one of two states that it may be in. If you see these purple box gizmos on the road, then you're in edit mode. Another way to know that you're in edit mode is if you look at these two icons on the utility bar, they're actually counterparts to each other. This is the edit icon and this is the select icon.
