Creating coverages
- Coverages are InfraWorks way of showing and designing different areas of land such as grass, pavement, concrete, and so on. Let's explore how to draw coverages to make these different land areas part of your design. I've opened the Chapter 3 Hotel Lynda model, and selected the create coverages proposal. I'll also select the Hotel Plan bookmark to get in a plan or top down view of our site. What I'd like to do is first draw a coverage representing the disturbed area of the project. I'm going to draw this area as a new grass style, so it'll look like brand new grass planted in area of construction, let's say. To get started, I'll open the coverages tool, and the way I'll do that is to expand the InfraWorks toolbar, locate the pencil icon or the create conceptual design features icon, and then, within the tools under that icon, we find coverages. I'll click coverages, and InfraWorks wants me to choose the style of my new coverage. The one I like to choose for this first coverage is…
