- [Instructor] Well, we've seen how we can create a linear style, such as a road, but sometimes even on a roadway, which is linear, we want certain elements along that roadway: elements such as trees or light posts or something similar. So we're going to see how we can add that to our linkedin road style. So, I'm going to edit our linkedin road style, here, and we're going to add a decoration.
This is how you add certain elements that are placed at a certain interval along a roadway. First, you have to choose where along that roadway you want to add it. So, you remember that we are mirroring both sides. So, we don't have a right and a left. So, the right group applies to both sides, here, and so you choose what element along that group that we're going to add these items to. So, we're going to choose Greenspace and we're going to add, from the other types of styles, the 3D Model styles and we're going to select from the 3D Model styles City Furniture and we already have a street light here but if we have a 3D model of any type of object we can create a 3D model style as well.
So, go ahead and click OK. It adds this in to the greenspace as one of the decorations for that greenspace and then we're going to increase the spacing of the lights to every 100 feet along that roadway and then in the track, that's the greenspace track, we're going to have an offset of five feet. You can also make adjustments, especially if we use a fire hydrant or we use a light post or something similar to that, that we want to line up along the road.
We might need to make some rotation translation, depending on the 3D model, we might have to scale it. So, we can do all of those different settings here as well. So, we'll go ahead and add that decoration in and you see that decoration is added in; looks very nice with one exception: it's sitting right in the middle of our sidewalk. So, what we'll do, we'll just bump up our greenspace from three feet to 10 feet. Once it catches up, you see now our light posts are sitting right in the middle of that greenspace and it all looks good.
So, we're going to go ahead and click OK and we'll see it update in our model. And it's that easy. Every single road, now, that used linkedin now has all our light posts. They're placed every 100 feet. Again, because it's a mirrored design of our style they're placed opposite of each other along that roadway. Very easy, again, to create the look and feel that we want for our design using styles.
