- [Instructor] Before we starting building out this document repository, I always think it's nice to know what we're building towards. So let's take a look at what this might look like at the end. I've already created a document library here, and you might notice the column names at the top tracking the information about our documents. Let's say we have a new event coming up. In my old world, I would have to create a folder, round up a bunch of templates, add 'em in here, and hopefully I had the right ones. Instead, let's go ahead and click the new button, and select event document set. I'm gonna go ahead and add the information for our document set here. Once you've added the information, and then click save, SharePoint is going to go behind the scenes and create a whole collection of documents for us. This may take a few moments. And look at what magic SharePoint has done for us. We have a document set. At the top, we have what's called the Welcome screen that gives us the information about this particular event, and then down at the bottom, we have a collection of documents. Not only did it create them for us, but it also organized them into folders. Let's take a look at that catering proposal. Check that out. Not only did it create our proposal for us, it also took the information that I added at the beginning and auto-populated it into the document. Even into my table at the bottom. This is a beautiful thing. So from this point on, I create new documents using document sets. Not from scratch and automate them for myself. Now that we've seen what SharePoint can do for us, why don't we go ahead and dive in and build a document repository.
