For every component you create you might need to make a small change to the text, the color, or even the size. Component overrides allow you to maintain the essentials of your components, while still slightly changing elements within the component. In this video, Drew Bridewell shows you exactly how to do work through a component override.
- [Instructor] So I have these three components…that I've already created…inside of this Component-overrides exercise file,…and now what I want to to do…is show you how to make overrides to these components.…Now what is an override?…An override is something where it allows you…to make small edits to a component…without affecting the core source component.…Let me show you what that means.…So inside of InVision Studio,…if I select a component that's already on an artboard,…I can just click into this component…and I see all these different elements inside of it.…
So if I wanted to change this from InVisionWorld…to Hello world, then all I have to do is change that,…and that component is overridden and it's still updated.…So if I were to go back to my core component,…and drag out my video title,…I'm still gonna see the InVisionWorld.…It has not been edited.…I could the color of these.…I could change a lot of different things,…and that's totally okay.…Another example is for the color.…
