- [Instructor] Layers are one of the most important features in InDesign for organizing items in your page layout. So, let's go over the key aspects of working with layers for the ACA exam. Everything you need to do with layers is done in the Layers panel. In the exercise file for this movie, there are just two layers, one called Nav for the photo navigation buttons, and the other called Content for everything else. First, I'll click on the arrow to the left of the layer name, of the Content layer, and I'll see what items are on that layer, and I can see each individual page item on the Content layer on this spread. If I go to the next spread, the Layers panel changes to show me all the items on the Content layer on this spread, but notice if I tip open the Nav layer, I don't see any items on it, but if I hide the Nav layer by clicking on its Eye icon, everything at the bottom of the page disappears, so, clearly, there are some things on the Nav layer.
