Which option is right for your project?

- The answer to this question about whether fixed-layout or reflowable HTML is right for your project, all depends on your content. To a much lesser extent, it's also constrained by how you intend to distribute your publication. I'm going to borrow the terms fixed-layout and reflowable from EPUB and use them for HTML, so you'll also see them when referring to EPUB. Now our priorities in these two different types, first the reflowable, want to have scalable text. If I'm on an e-reader reading a novel, and I have to strain my eyes to see, I'd like to easily be able to scale it up, and that way I no longer have to strain my eyes, and frankly, I'm reading it on my e-reader, I don't particularly care that typeface is used. The text is really going to outweigh the images in this type of project and there's generally a linearity in this type of project, so, again, in a novel I'm going to start at the beginning and I'm going to read to the end in a straightforward fashion.
