Join Anne-Marie Concepción for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of InDesign CC 2019 New Features.
- [Instructor] What should you know in order to get the most out of this course? Well I'm going to assume that you have a working knowledge of InDesign, any previous version. Otherwise how are you going to appreciate the new features, right? And as I do for all my training videos here, I've changed the interface from the default of dark background with white text to something lighter, which I personally think is a lot easier to work with. Definitely easier for people to follow along when they're watching my videos or taking one of my classes. Now you don't have to change your interface but if you're curious how I did do that and you want to do the same, it's really easy.
Quickly you just go to preferences, interface. On a Mac it's under the InDesign menu. On Windows it's under the edit menu at the bottom. And in interface at the very top, choose the lightest appearance and turn off match pasteboard to theme color. Now one other thing is that in some of the videos in the title, I'll jump back and forth between CC 2018 and CC 2019 because some of the differences are pretty subtle and to help orient yourself, I've left the CC 2018 interface, I'll switch there now, in the default dark mode.
So you can always tell which version we're currently looking at. Also at the top it says CC 2018 and CC 2019. Don't have to know much but if you know just a little bit about interfaces and previous versions of InDesign, you're good to go.
