Using the exercise files

- If you're a premium member of Lynda.com you have access to the exercise files that I'm using throughout this course. I've laid out exercise files by chapter, and videos within that chapter. Now most of these include InDesign files, and I have two points to make about the InDesign files. First of all, when you open them up, if it says that there are missing links, I created one common links folder for all of the InDesign files so I didn't have to keep duplicating them, and to reduce download time. So all you need to do is to link any missing images to this common links folder.

That should work out fine. The other point I want to make is that many of these InDesign files contain fonts of course and I'm using either Minion Pro, which comes along with the InDesign CC installation, or I'm using fonts from Typekit. And you get a subscription to Typekit when you subscribe to InDesign CC. So if you are missing any Typekit fonts when you open up one of these files, you'll be prompted by InDesign to sync, that is download and install these fonts, which it does so on the fly very quickly.

If you're a monthly member, or annual member of Lynda.com you don't have access to the exercise files, but you can certainly follow along from scratch with your own assets. Now, let's get started.
