Using Quick Apply with styles

In an earlier chapter, I discussed the Quick Apply feature and how you can use it to select menu items. But I find Quick Apply even more useful for applying styles. Let me show you what I mean. I'll use the Type tool to click in this first paragraph in the upper left corner of the page. Let's zoom in to 200% so we can see it better with Command+2, or Ctr+2 on Windows, and now I'm going to apply a paragraph style, my Section Head style. I've already made some paragraph styles, character styles, and object styles in this document, but now I want to apply them quickly.

I could open up the Paragraph Styles panel and rummage through it until I find the style I want, but it's simply much faster to bring up Quick Apply. To do that, I'll press Command+Return on the Mac or Ctrl+Enter on Windows, and up comes the Quick Apply panel. Now I can move this Quick Apply panel anywhere I want on my screen.
