Use views and viewing modes

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll talk about different viewing options and modes in InDesign. You could probably guess that access to different viewing modes is in the View menu. So I'll go here and choose Screen Mode, and here I can see the five different viewing modes that InDesign offers. Right now, we're in Normal mode and in Normal mode, you can see things like margins and columns, grids and guides, and the edges of all the frames on the page, even if they're not selected. Note that you can turn off the display of any of these things while you're in Normal view mode. So for example, if I didn't want to see all my guides including those for margins and columns, I can choose View, Grids & Guides, Hide Guides. And I can bring them back by clicking the button in the Properties panel. I can hide frame edges by choosing View, Extras, Hide Frame Edges, and I'll turn them back on. Notice that I'm seeing the hidden characters in my type like spaces, forced line breaks, and end of story…
