- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll take a look at what you need to know about using rulers for the InDesign ACA exam. Rulers help you position objects on your page and measure distances. And you should know how to show and hide rulers, how to reposition the ruler origin, and how to change the measurement unit. To show and hide rulers in InDesign, just press Command or Control + R, or go to the View menu and choose Hide Rulers or Show Rulers. Notice in our exercise file is at the top left of the page. I can see the X and Y position of a selected item relative to that ruler origin. And note that the reference point is set to the top left, right here. So if I select the magazine title, I can see that the top left of it is three picas over from the left side of the page and five picas down from the top of the page. But by clicking and dragging the ruler origin, I can reposition that zero-zero point, like to the top left corner of the first article here. And then I can see To reset the…
