Use guides and grids

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at what you need to know about using grids and guides for the InDesign ACA exam. Since there are a lot of useful controls for working with guides in the Properties panel, I'll go ahead and show that. Guides are non-printing lines that help you position and align items and you can make a guide simply by dragging out from a ruler. Drag from a vertical ruler to make a vertical guide. Or a horizontal ruler to make a horizontal guide. Or switch as you're dragging by holding the Option or Alt key and releasing. To delete a guide, click to select it with either selection tool and press Delete. You can also place guides by double clicking on a ruler. You can prevent guides from being accidentally moved by choosing View, Grids and Guides, Lock Guides or by clicking the Lock Guides button in the Properties panel.
