- [Instructor] Here's a cool tip that I happened upon when doing a project for a client. I had to design a bunch of covers for audiobooks, and the cover art they wanted was square. Then they wanted a lot of stuff on the cover, but the illustrations were sometimes kind of busy. So as you can see, this is kind of hard to read, but if I added a little bit of InDesign magic, then they became much easier to read. But before, the person who used to do this project before me was jumping back and forth between Photoshop and Illustrator, trying to get this kind of effect, but you know, me and David, we like to stay in InDesign. So I want to show you how you can apply gradient backgrounds to just parts of images in order to make the text appear better when you have to overlay that image. So, for example, I have this spread here of a bunch of pictures, and say that I wanted to add titles to them, or captions to them. If I just use black or…
