Understanding the limitations of table and cell styles
- If you use InDesign styles like paragraph and character styles, which hopefully, you do and maybe once in a while, object styles, InDesign's table and cell styles are gonna look pretty familiar to you. However, there are a couple of limitations in these styles that I know really threw me off when I tried to start learning how to use these styles. And I wanted to share these with you, so that you don't get discouraged. Table and cell styles can be really powerful, but there are just a couple of things that you need to understand that can't be done with them. First of all, I'm going to open my table in cell styles panel. I'll go to the Window menu to Styles, and we can choose either cell or table styles. They're usually tabbed together. At the top of this page, I have a table, which when I select it, I can see that a table style has been applied. Let's take a look at that style for just a moment.
