Understanding graphic cells

- Graphic cells are a fairly new feature of InDesign tables, introduced with InDesign CC 2015, and graphic cells are really a kind of new object type with some unique behavior. Let's take a look at how they work. I'm going to select the first row of this table and now I'm going to convert this entire row to graphic cells. I'm going to right mouse click to get my contextual menu and you see I have a command here, "Convert Cell to Graphic Cell." When I do that, I get a graphics frame in each cell and I can select that frame with my selection tool. The frames that have been put into these cells don't have any stroke or fill, and in fact if we look at them in preview mode, the table looks exactly the same, it's just that now there are these graphics frames sitting there. I'll go back into normal view. One of the unique properties of graphics cells is that the edges of the graphic frames are kind of glued to the edge of the table cells. Let me show you what I mean.
