Stacking and layering objects

In this movie, I'll introduce you to the concepts of stacking and layering in InDesgin, which allow you to determine which objects are in front, and which objects are in back, inside of a document. So let's say I wanna add a background to page four of this file. I'm gonna start by pressing ctrl+0, or cmd+0 on a Mac to zoom all the way out, and then I'll select the rectangle tool, which is the one directly above the scissors, here inside the lefthand toolbox. And now I'll drag from the intersection of this purple verticle guidline, and the bottom of the page, all the way up to right about here, it doesn't matter as long as we overlap that banner. Now by default I'm gonna get a black fill and no stroke, as you can see up here in the control panel. I'm gonna click on the right pointing arrowhead next to the fill swatch, and I'm gonna select to swatch called "pale orange", which i created in advance inside of this document.
