Specify resolution and appearance
- [Instructor] This is a good time to take a close look at what happens with the images in your EPUBs. The first rule is that what's nice is you can place any kind of image into InDesign and when you export to EPUB, it will convert it to a format that fits with the EPUB 3 specs. So for example, here is a very simple document of one of my wonderful dogs, Bella, lying on the couch and if you look at the links panel, it is a Photoshop document. It's a PSD file. It happens to be RGB but it could be CMYK. It can basically be any kind of image format. It's also a very high res. It came in at 300 and then I scaled it way down so now the resolution is over 1,000 pixels. But that's okay too because I'm going to have InDesign automatically down sample it and it does a great job of down sampling. You don't want this high of a res in your buckets going to fail validation. There are image guidelines from the eResellers about the size of the image and the resolution. I've take a couple screenshots…
