Setting header and footer rows

If you always create simple tables that only appear on one page, you may never need to use InDesign's special header or footer rows. However, if you create a table that spans multiple pages, columns, or frames, header and footer rows are essential because they automatically repeat at the top or bottom of each page, column, or frame. They're also an important part of table styles, but we're going to talk about that in another video. Let's take a look at how we can use header or footer rows in tables that span multiple pages. First of all, if you're creating a table from scratch the dialog allows you to set header or footer rows here. If you already have a table on your page though, you can just convert any rows to header or footer rows. I'm going to start with a simple example here so I can show you how these work. I'm going to select the first row in this table and I'm going to right mouse click to get my contextual menu. And I'll convert it to a header row. I'll deselect everything…
