Placing text from Word

- [Instructor] Placing text from a Word document is an efficient way to get content into an InDesign layout without having to copy and paste repeatedly. Using the type tool click in the text frame in the upper right corner of the page. Choose file, place, and navigate to the Word document that you want to place into this frame. To see the options available when placing the Word document, click the show import options checkbox, and then click open. In the formatting section of the import options dialogue box you can choose to remove formatting, or retain formatting from the Word document. Click remove styles and formatting from text and tables. It's good to do this because it allows us to format the text without any unwanted remnants from the Word document. Click OK. The text is hard to see because it's black text on a black background.
