Join David Blatner for an in-depth discussion in this video Placing graphics in cells, part of InDesign CC 2015 Essential Training.
- What if you want to put a picture inside…of a table cell instead of text?…Well, remember that each cell in a…table is sort of like a mini text frame…but you can also change it to a mini…graphic frame if you want.…There are two ways to do that.…First, let's place our cursor inside this cell…over here just by double-clicking on it…and now I'm gonna zoom in to 400% by…pressing cmd + 4 or ctrl + 4 on Windows.…I'm gonna delete all the text in that cell…and I can do that simply by pressing the delete key…here or I could press the esc key first.…
Remember that esc toggles between selecting…the text and selecting the entire cell.…In this case the cell is selected,…now I can just hit the delete key.…That deletes all the text in that cell.…Now, I'm going to turn this cell…into a graphic frame and to do that…I'm gonna go to the Table menu…and then chose Convert Cell to Graphic Cell.…You can only convert empty cells into graphic cells.…Now it doesn't look like anything's changed here…but it actually has and I can see that…
