One very important process that takes place in prepress is something called imposition. So, what's imposition? Well, it's really just positioning pages for the location which they're going to print on press. So, what do I mean by that? Why is imposition even necessary? Well you can get an idea of what happens during imposition by taking a magazine, pulling out the staples, pulling it apart and looking at how the pages are really printed. You're going to find out that page two doesn't print opposite page three. Imposition is tailored to the trimming and binding processes that are going to touch the job after it's printed. And it optimizes the way this job prints based on the press sheet size. So, that leads us to a discussion of reader spreads versus printer spreads. The way we read is called reader spreads. So, for example, in this little eight page brochure, there's page 1, the cover, by itself, and then 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and finally page 8, the back cover. So, this is the way you…
