Join Justin Seeley for an in-depth discussion in this video Grouping your InDesign layers, part of InDesign CC 2014 New Features.
- This next new feature might seem small…when you first look at it, but if you're ever dealing with…documents that have a lot of layers and a lot…of content that's grouped together,…this could be a real timesaver.…Basically what's happened now inside of InDesign…is they've added a feature where when you group…objects together, and then you ungroup those objects…later on, those objects remember where they used to live…inside of the Layers panel, and they go back…to that parent layer.…Let me show you how it works.…I'm going to select this breadsticks photo up here…at the top, and then I'm going to select the…Appetizers and Soups and Salads text column.…
I did that by holding down the shift key…and clicking on both of those.…And then you'll notice in the layers panel over here…that I have breadsticks selected and the appetizers…text block selected.…They are on different layers.…I have text images and background layers here.…They're on different layer, so when I go to…the object menu, and I choose group,…watch what happens.…
