Format tables and cells

- [Instructor] Let's see how to format tables with table styles and cell styles in InDesign. The first thing to keep in mind when learning about InDesign's table and cell styles is that one kind of style works inside another kind of style. Table styles include cell styles and cell styles include paragraph styles and paragraph styles can include character styles in form of nested styles, graph styles, and so on. So when you're building your table styles, you need to follow this progression of style building. Start with the character styles you need in your table and then the paragraph styles, then the cell styles, and finally, the table styles. And even after that effort, you probably still will have a fair amount of manual work ahead of you to finish the table formatting. In our file here, we have a table that uses five different kinds of cells. There's a header cell for the table title, a table subhead cell, column heading cells, body cells, and row heading cells.
