Flow in a Word manuscript
- [Narrator] Now, most of this course we've been working from the assumption that you're starting with an InDesign document, something that you have prepared, or somebody's given to you prepared for print or PDF that you need to tweak in order to get a good looking EPUB out of it. But in a lot of cases, you don't get that far. Somebody gives you a Word manuscript, a client, a relative, your boss, and they say, here is my magnum opus. Please turn it into an Ebook for me. And it is a little bit difficult because you cannot create an EPUB from Word. There is no save out, or export as in EPUB format, which is kinda strange. Now, I have heard that they're working on some sort of beta add on for Word that could do that, but I don't have high hopes. Because if you've ever seen the HTML that Word exports, it's kind of like a nightmare. The best idea here would be to import the Word file into InDesign, just as a fake book.
