Drawing basic shapes
- [Instructor] Adobe Indesign makes it easy to draw many common basic shapes to use in your designs. You'll notice two shape tools available in the tools panel. The rectangle frame tool is generally used for holding images, and the rectangle tool is for general shapes, although they are interchangeable. Click on the rectangle tool to make it active. In the layers panel, open the layers panel by choosing window, layers, and make sure you click on the background layer to make it the active layer. Click and drag in the middle panel within the guides from one corner to the other to draw a rectangle in that space. Note that this object has a fill of none and a stroke of black. Click on the swap, fill and stroke icon to swap the properties of that object.
