Designing on a diagonal grid
- [Instructor] So I recently went to an exhibition at the National Theater in London of their theater posters, a retrospective of all of the posters that they've produced over the years to promote their plays. And it was extremely good, and I highly recommend it. There was a particular style that they used to have where they would use a lot of very bold Helvetica at 45 degree angles, and I thought that would make a good topic for a type tip. So that's what I'm going to be doing. I'm going to be recreating this fictional poster for Julius Caesar. As you probably know, InDesign is a fantastic place to create grids. It has lots of lots of grid-friendly tools, but what it does not have is the ability to create a diagonal grid. But that doesn't mean that we can't just create our own grid of lines and call it a grid. And it's going to function in much the same way.
