- [Instructor] During the initial concepting and brainstorming, as you are sketching the possible packaging forms, you will also need to be thinking about the panels, color, type, image, and the importance of messaging that will go on the packaging. These design considerations will be a critical part of your design development and overall strategy to make your package stand out. Hierarchy of information. The design should be broken down into first, second, and third read elements. For the first read elements, focus on what is the brand, product name, and the image of the product. Then for the second read elements, make sure you show what kind or type of product and/or flavor it is, as well as the product benefits. If there are any special violators, then those will also fall in the second tier.
